What is home staging and how does it work?

image59

Home Staging is the process of making your home look ready for sale.

Staging can help sell your home faster and for more money, whether your home needs a mild refresh or a full overhaul.

Staging your home for sale can result in a 6 to 10% increase in value, according to the National Association of Realtors.  Staging can also help your home sell faster.   For you, that means less time on the market, fewer showings, and less aggravation.  It can also mean an easier move, after de-cluttering and re-assessing furniture needs.

My Process

I'll do an initial 2-hour assessent of your property, talk to you, and get a real idea of what you need or want.

If you need more help than that original assessment, I can recommend skilled craftsmen to do necessary repairs.

Once repairs are finished, I can help you arrange furniture and decorate, for a faster sale or just more comfort in your home.

About Me

My background

image60

I have been a practicing lawyer for 24 years.  But I've always been drawn to design.   I always thought design would just be a hobby, until I finally decided to use my creativity in a new way.

How I got started

image61

When I was in law school, I didn't have much money, but I felt that my environment was important.  I started dragging furniture in from the street and re-imagining it. I started rearranging all the furniture I had.  I started antiquing, and scoured every shop to find treasures.  Now, I can use my self-acquired expertise to make other peoples'  environments what they want them to be, for selling a house or for living in.

My style

image62

My personal style is a mix of all kinds of styles, but I would probably label it colorful, happy modern vintage-glam, and whatever-looks-good-together.  Most people don't need my kind of outrageous, but I love to bring out the best in houses and furniture.

Kim S.'s Bedroom: Before and After

Kim's bedroom had good bones, but was a bit dull.

We settled on a black, white, and emerald green color palate.

Then we got to work making custom blinds, a custom cushion, and custom pillows.
